Fuel Truck Driver In Shot And Killed In Fort Worth

Published:

A Groendyke fuel truck driver was shot and killed outside of a QuickTrip in Fort Worth early this morning.

The driver, whose name is not being released pending the notification of relatives, was discovered not moving by a QuickTrip worker after the driver had started unloading fuel around 1:30 a.m., but had been shot and killed in the cab of his truck sometime after that. Around 4:00 a.m, the worker noticed that the driver was not moving, shook his leg, and found him to be nonresponsive. The worker then called 911.

When police arrived, they found that the driver had died of a gunshot wound. Authorities do not believe that the wound was self-inflicted.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident. They aren’t sure what time the shooting took place, but they are talking to witnesses and looking at surveillance video to try to determine what happened.
