Southbound lanes of I-275 in Detroit have been shut down after a fatal incident involving an 18 wheeler and a road construction worker vehicle.
The incident occurred today around 2 p.m.
At least one person has been killed as a result of a two-vehicle crash involving an 18 wheeler and a Wayne County Roads Division vehicle. CBS Local is reporting that the truck struck a road work crew.
Southbound I-275 is shut down in Canton Township near Exit 22. Authorities expect long delays.
The incident is still under investigation. Police are not sure what caused the crash.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has provided alternate routes to help drivers avoid the crash site.
