No IFTA Sticker Leads To Rap Star Nelly’s Arrest

Tennessee State Troopers arrested rap star Nelly Saturday morning on drug charges after the stopping his Prevost motor coach bus for failure to display a U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker on the vehicle.

The arrest occurred on I-40 in Putnam County around 9:20 a.m. After the troopers had pulled the bus over for the sticker violation, they noticed the odor of marijuana and conducted a probable cause search of the bus. The trooper discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. One of the other 5 bus passengers was charged for being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Nelly was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His attorney says that he will be exonerated when all of the facts are brought to light.
