Off the Beaten Path

Do your loads ever take you to Eloy, AZ?  If you ever get the opportunity to stop off in Eloy for a 34-hour restart, or even if waiting for a load, there is a place you can go check out, and they have Big Truck Parking!!

The Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch at 17599 East Peak Lane, Picacho, AZ is an off the beaten path, fun place to go!!  They are located between Tucson & Phoenix off I-10 and Exit 219.

The Ostrich Ranch has not only ostrich, but they have donkeys, deer, goats, prairie dogs, ducks and birds.  For the small fee of $7 admission, you can feed all the animals.  The animals eat right out of your hand (except for the Ostrich) and the birds fly right down and land on you. Beware: they will land on your head!

The ranch is open daily from 9am to 5pm local standard time.

But wait, there’s more! On Saturday and Sundays, the ranch also offers “Monster Truck Tours” for a fee of $15, OR you can get the package deal of feeding the animals and the Monster Truck Tour, ALL for $20.

The Monster Truck Tour is a 45-minute long educational tour through the ranch with a lot of fun thrown in!  The Monster Truck Tour can be one bumpy, fun ride!  They are baby “friendly,” as the front of the Monster Truck is “less bumpy” than the back of the truck.  Toward the end of the tour, the guide takes you “ostrich fishing,” and, boy, is that an experience!

If you’re ever in the area and want to spend some time in nature, DEFINITELY check this place out!  We did and we had a blast!  I had to buy “extra” food because I wanted to go back and feed ALL the animals again!!
