Peterbilt this week announced a new, smaller sleeper option.
The new 58-inch Peterbilt sleeper is perfect for “weight conscious short-and regional-haul” drivers.
The sleeper option is available on all new Peterbilt Model 579 and vocational 567 models. The 58-inch sleeper is available in both low- and mid-roof configurations.
In addition, the 58-inch sleeper includes a full-length door, which helps with loading belongings into the truck. Though the sleeper is smaller, it’s still big on options– The sleeper option features a TV mount, refrigerator, microwave shelf and full-length mattress.
Peterbilt says the new 58-inch sleeper option (verses the 80-inch sleeper) reduces weight as much as 100 pounds.
“Peterbilt’s new 58-inch sleeper is a perfect fit for customers in applications where a shorter wheelbase and less weight are important, such as tanker and flatbed operations,” said Robert Woodall, Peterbilt Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing. “Additionally, it has all of the driver-pleasing amenities found in Peterbilt’s larger sleepers, including ample storage, quality fit and finish and numerous driver comforts.”
The 58-inch sleeper will go into production at the end of the year.
