A truck driver will miss Thanksgiving with his family after becoming stranded in Albuquerque by a potentially deadly prank last week.
Interstate Prank Damages 7 Vehicles
Alabama-based driver Steve Stukey was headed from California to Cincinnati on I-40 when the truck in front of him hit a crate full of boulders and construction equipment. Debris exploded all over the highway. Stukey’s truck hit a boulder, which pierced the bottom of the radiator.
Three other trucks and three cars were also damaged as a result of the debris strike.
Police Say Boulders Are Part of an Ongoing Prank
State police say that the boulders in the interstate are part of an ongoing prank. They told Stukey that, “it was these kids that had been doing it the last three nights.”
Stukey says that the prank cost him $10,000 in repairs and lost work. He will also miss Thanksgiving with his family as a result of the prank.
He says he hopes state police find the pranksters soon.
