RECIPE: Low-Fat Chicken Salad

If you’re trying to lose a bit of weight, get in shape or just trying to get healthier, try this recipe!

This recipe is a family favorite and it’s the perfect meal for hot summer days!

Supermarket or traditional homemade chicken salad can pack more than 500 calories per serving! This recipe is similar to your favorite chicken salad but it’s much lower in fat, cholesterol and calories.

Ingredients:

1 large can of chicken

1/2 cup of plain low, fat Greek yogurt

2 tbsp chopped purple grapes

1 tsp honey

2 tbsp finely chopped celery

1 tsp slivered almonds

Directions: 

Drain water from chicken, slice grapes and celery.  Mix chicken and Greek yogurt in a bowl. Add honey and mix well.  Add remaining ingredients and stir.

It’s that easy!

This chicken salad is great for sandwiches, scooped onto a bed of lettuce or in a wrap!
