How Much Will The Pennsylvania Turnpike Toll Hike Cost You?

Published:

Starting January 3 at 12:01 a.m., drivers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike can expect to pay higher tolls.

Authorities have increased the toll by 6%, and they say that they plan to keep increasing the toll by 3% to 6% every year until 2044. Some of the money will go towards paying off money borrowed in 2007 to help PennDOT survive a major funding gap. The increased toll money will also go towards reconstructing and widening the 75-year-old turnpike infrastructure.

Though the actual cost of the toll for truck drivers will depend on various factors, authorities say that the most common toll for truckers will increase from $9.05 to $9.59 for E-ZPass users, while those paying with cash will see their toll increase from $12.80 to $13.60.

You can use the Turnpike Toll Calculator to determine exactly how much you can expect to pay. You can also get more information about the 2016 toll plan in the document below.
