Shooter Opens Fire On Truckers And Police Officer In Parking Lot

Police are hunting for a man who opened fire on two truckers and a police officer in a parking lot on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County, Georgia, just before sunrise this morning.

Unknown Man Opens Fire on Truckers

The truckers involved had parked their trucks in the Office Depot Plaza and were walking to a nearby restaurant when a man began firing a gun at them while attempting to rob them.

The police officer reported that he was driving along Memorial Drive when he saw the gunman shooting at the two truckers in the parking lot. When the officer approached the scene, the gunman began firing at him as well.

Gunman Eludes Police

The gunman then escaped in a red colored BMW. The officer pursued him, but he abandoned the car in a subdivision and escaped on foot.

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt during the incident. One of the truck drivers sustained a minor injury to his hand when he fell while running from the shooter.

The police officer did not discharge his firearm during the incident.
