Two teens in West Weber, Utah, are facing criminal charges after breaking into an 18 wheeler, stealing the ice cream inside — and live streaming video of their crime on Sunday night.

Citizen Calls Cops After Watching Streaming Video

A concerned citizen contacted the Weber County Sheriff’s Department after watching a video on Twitter’s Periscope app that appeared to show two teens breaking into a big rig full of ice cream.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found two big trucks on site, one of which had a refrigerated trailer. The truck driver confirmed that  the truck contained ice cream and that it had been broken into.

Teen Confesses to Big Rig Burglary

The deputy then tracked down the teen via social media. The teen confessed to breaking into the truck and stealing ice cream with a friend. The teens said that they left tubs of ice cream on nearby porches as a gift.

The teens will go to juvenile court to face charges of burglary and theft.
