Stop Diabetes

More than 29 million people in the US have type II diabetes. Diabetes dramatically alters your life and can cost you your CDL.

Here are some ways to prevent getting type II diabetes:

#1 Lose Weight-

This is the most important thing you can do to stave off diabetes. Obesity is the leading cause of type II diabetes.  Pledge to start watching what you eat and taking steps to lose weight.  Begin exercising.  Even if it’s just getting out of your truck and walking laps, any exercise you do is good for your health.  Exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes. You’ll feel better!

#2 Eat Foods Rich in Fiber-

Fiber is an important part of your diet.  Fiber helps lower your blood sugar and promotes weight loss by helping you feel full.  Beans, fruits, whole grains and vegetables are high in fiber.

#3 Eat More Whole Grains-

Whole grains help maintain your blood sugar.  When shopping for breads and cereals, choose one that is made with whole grains.
