A crash involving 6 18 wheelers and 1 passenger vehicle shut down I-10 in both directions west of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The crash occurred around 3 a.m. this morning between Grosse Tête and Port Allen. Several of the trucks involved overturned.
Two drivers have been hospitalized with minor injuries, but no fatalities were reported.
As of this report, eastbound lanes of I-10 have reopened, but westbound lanes are expected to remain closed into the afternoon. Heavy traffic delays remain a problem on I-10, I-110, and U.S. 190 East and Westbound.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The names of the people involved have not yet been released.
