The truck driver who backed into a U.S. Steel worker on Saturday at U.S. Steel’s Great Lakes Works’ Cold Mill Shipping in Michigan, has been charged with manslaughter.
On Saturday, Heather Warren, a U.S. Steel shift worker, was spotting trucks when a truck driven by ALTCO driver Miho Saljic backed into Warren, pinning her between his truck and another.
Warren died at the scene and Saljic was taken into custody.
Yesterday, the Warren County prosecutor’s office announced that Saljic is being charge with manslaughter.
Authorities are not releasing any further details on the tragic accident.
Saljic is free on a $20,000 bond, though he has been outfitted with a tether.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on May 5. If found guilty, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
