One Killed In Wrong Way SUV Vs. Truck Crash

Published:

A woman was killed early yesterday morning after an SUV driving the wrong way crashed head-on into a truck.

Authorities say the incident happened on I-5 near milepost 150 near Rice Hill, Oregon, at about 12:20 a.m. A 2016 Honda SUV driven by 39-year-old Charles B. Jones was travelling south in the northbound lanes of I-5 when it crashed into a truck head-on.

The SUV’s passenger 35-year-old Deanna L. Teaven died on the scene. Jones was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The truck driver, 23-year-old Ruben Macias Solorzano of California, was not seriously hurt. His truck, hauling powdered coffee creamer rolled, rolled and spilled its cargo after the impact with the SUV.

Police are still investigating the incident, but they believe that alcohol could be a factor in the crash.

The crash caused one lane of I-5 to be closed for about 6 hours.
