Kenworth T680 To Transport Capitol Christmas Tree

Published:

A Kenworth truck will once again have the honor of transporting the Capitol Christmas Tree. The truck, a T680, which “distinctive decal design,” was unveiled this week.

The decal’s design features the Chugach Mountains and the U.S. Capitol beneath a a northern stars sky and is emblazoned with the words, “From the Northern Lights to the Capitol Lights.” In addition, the 2015 Capitol Christmas Tree official stamp is included.

The T680 features a 76-inch mid-roof sleeper and is equipped with a 485-hp PACCAR MX-13, an Eaton Fuller Advantage transmission and Kenworth TruckTech+.

This year’s Capitol Christmas Tree will be cut down on October 27 near Seward, Alaska.  The tree will then be loaded onto the Kenworth and hauled across the U.S. to the U.S. Capitol.

“The tour of ‘The People’s Tree’ offers millions of Americans an opportunity to see our nation’s symbol of celebration,” said Kurt Swihart, Kenworth marketing director. “The Kenworth T680 mid-roof 76-inch sleeper offers the perfect spec’d truck to complete this important tour. It provides a comfortable work environment and the truck’s inspiring graphics offer visitors at each stop a nice reminder of the tree’s origin and destination.”
