Woman Killed And 6 Hurt After SUV Cuts Off Truck

A mother of five was killed and six others were injured after an SUV caused a Coca-Cola truck driver to lose control, hitting pedestrians who were waiting at a bus stop in the Bronx yesterday.

The official word from the police was that the Coca-Cola truck was traveling north on Bruckner Boulevard when an SUV driven by a 52-year-old woman cut in front of it, causing a collision. However, some witnesses said that the SUV driver was trying to avoid crashing into a motorcycle who was racing towards a ramp.

The 35-year-old truck driver lost control, driving over the sidewalk and crashing into a group of people waiting for a bus. The truck went onto crash into some scaffolding and a building. The SUV also lost control and crashed into a traffic sign.

Sheniqua Silva, 37, was pronounced dead on the scene. She was on the phone with her husband when the crash happened.

The truck driver and SUV driver were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Two other pedestrians were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed yet. Authorities do not believe that there was any criminal action by the truck driver.
