If you’re looking for help getting into shape, the new Active Trucker app may be the answer.
The app was created by Prime Inc.’s Siphiwe Baleka, a former triathlete and director of Prime’s Driver Health and Fitness Program. 43-year-old Baleka has been an Ironman competitor, but he’s also worked as a long-haul trucker and understands the health challenges that drivers face. He gained over 10% of his body weight in just two months of trucking, which led him to develop a program specifically designed with the needs of drivers in mind.
The Active Trucker app uses 10 basic exercises that can be completed at a rest stop or by the side of your truck at a truck stop. The four-week program is designed to help drivers progress towards their fitness goals, speeding up their metabolism to keep them burning calories even when they are sitting behind the wheel. The workouts are only 15 minutes each and do not require a change of clothes. Phase 1 does not require any equipment, but to complete Phase 2, you will need a large piece of cardboard or a workout mat.
The app is available for $29.99 from Skimble.
