Truck Driver Faces Felony Charge For Dumping Sludge In Ditch

toxic waste

Truck driver Jimmy Williams is facing felony charges in Texas after allegedly dumping 100 gallons of used cooking oil and grease in a ditch.

When authorities arrived on the scene in Parker County, Williams told them his truck was stuck in the mud. He said that he was dumping the oil in an attempt to free his truck. State officials said that water running through the ditch had carried the sludge a quarter of a mile from the site of the dumping.

Williams was arrested, but is now free after posting $15,000 bail. Texas BiProducts, the company owns William’s truck, hired a private company to clean up the waste.
