Truck Driver Files Suit Over Truck Stop Crash

More and more U.S. workers in California and across the nation are filing wage-theft law suits, saying their bosses illegally failed to pay wages that are rightfully owed to them.

According to the Southeast Texas Record, a truck driver from Florida has filed a lawsuit against a trucking company and its driver following a truck stop crash.

The incident occurred on April 15, 2013, at the Texas Best truck stop in Tyler, Texas.

On October 30, truck driver, Vladimir Kostov, filed a lawsuit against Beckat Oil & Fuel and Daniel Fredrick, claiming negligence.

Kostov claims that on April 15, 2013, he had opened his hood and climbed into his engine compartment to wash his windshield.  At the same time, Fredrick , whose truck was parked in front of Kostov’s, backed his truck into Kostov’s truck.   The impact crushed the hood, causing Kostov to hit his head and burn his leg on the engine.

Kostov is seeking $75,000  in “economic, non-economic and compensatory damages, including interest and costs of court,” the Southeast Texas Record reports.
