Local sources are confirming that it was the truck driver who was killed during a crash involving a work crew on southbound I-275 in Detroit earlier this afternoon.
Authorities say that the truck driver died instantly after the crash. They also report that he was driving an empty tanker truck in the right lane when the crash happened.
The driver of the road commission vehicle was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The names of the people involved in the crash have not yet been released.
