A truck hauling thousands of pounds of shattered glass hit a passenger vehicle around just before six this morning in Boyle Heights, California, covering the highway with broken glass and spilling diesel fuel.
The California Highway Patrol announced this morning that all lanes of the East Los Angles Interchange are closed until further notice while crews work to clear the road. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries. The truck driver only had cuts and bruises.
The accident occurred on the southbound 5 Freeway transition to the 60 eastbound connector. Shattered glass was strewn across several lanes, which made  clean up slow going for Caltrans crews. The truck also spilled fuel into the dirt, which crews will also cleaned up before the East Los Angeles Interchange reopened around 11 a.m.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
