Trucking Industry ‘Bracing For a Downturn’

Freight predictions for the upcoming months are a bit bleak. The trucking industry is reportedly bracing itself for the worst.

According to Live Trading News, “Private trucking and logistics executives say that spot-market demand has turned soft this month and that the contractual rate increases they have been seeking are cracking.”

Industry experts believe the downturn my be somewhat of an illusion.  They say that shortages and issues at the Ports in early 2015 prompted buyers to increase ordering which led to a surplus of goods.

Freight forecasters are predicting an “adequate” year; however, 2016 likely won’t see the freight movement as years past.

Drivers, are you starting to see a decline in freight?
