Veteran Virginia Truck Driver Scores $92 Million Jackpot

A 30-year veteran truck driver from Virginia will be retiring early after winning $92 million off a lottery ticket he purchased at a truck stop in Pennsylvania.

Steven Peloquin, 52-years-old, bought the sole winning Mega Millions lottery ticket at a truck stop in Milton. Peloquin said that he didn’t bother to check the ticket for several days. Saturday night before turning in, he checked the numbers online. “Needless to say, I didn’t get to sleep that night,” he told reporters.

Peloquin chose the cash payout over the annuity. He says that the lottery money will enable him and his wife to retire early and spend more time with family.

The $92 million prize is the fourth largest in the Pennsylvania Lottery’s history.
