Video Proves Accused Truck Driver Innocent In Fatal 5 Vehicle Crash

Published:

After police and witnesses initially accused a truck driver of causing a fatal 5 vehicle crash on Sunset Road in Las Vegas on Monday morning, video evidence has emerged showing that the woman who accused the truck driver was actually responsible for the crash.

Trucker Accused Of Causing Deadly Chain Reaction Crash

Initially, Las Vegas police said that an 18 wheeler rear-ended a passenger vehicle, killing 39-year-old Christine Robinson inside and causing a chain-reaction crash with four other vehicles.

Motorist Angela Bashay, who was involved in the crash, accused a truck driver of causing the crash, telling local reporters, “I remember a very large white truck that hit and I flipped immediately and was dragged down Sunset quite a ways.”

Bashay even went so far as to ask that the truck driver step forward to take the blame. She said, “I just hope that he would come forward and for the families of the others involved just to take responsibility for it.”

Video Evidence Helps Prove Truck Driver’s Innocence

However, footage from a nearby post office and testimony from other witnesses told a different story.

Police found that Bashay’s SUV was responsible for the accident, slamming into the back of Robinson’s vehicle and killing her. They said that the truck driver did not hit any cars, though they added that he likely saw something and they would like to speak with him as a witness.

Investigators are checking phone records and gathering evidence to see if Bashay was texting and to learn how fast she was driving to determine whether they will level charges against her.
