Powerful thunderstorms rocked the New Orleans area this afternoon.
The wiping winds were so powerful, they forced a Union Pacific train right off the elevated tracks on the Huey P. Long Bridge.
The incident occurred this morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. in Jefferson Parish.
The WGNO news crew was there when the derailing occurred.
Thankfully, there were no injuries in the incident.
