Walmart Responds To ‘Truck Drivers You Are Not Welcome At Walmart’ Signs

Published:

Overnight we received numerous messages about signs proclaiming truck drivers are not welcome at the Hope Mills, North Carolina Walmart.

The signs read, “TRUCK DRIVERS YOU ARE NOT WELCOME AT WALMART MANAGER.”

They were haphazardly taped to the store’s refrigerated section.

We reached out to the Hope Mills Walmart and to Walmart Corporate about this, and both have said that the signs were NOT placed by Walmart.

Brian Nick Director, Walmart National Media Relations told CDLLife, “We are not sure how these signs were hung up in our store but as soon as they were noticed by an associate, our management immediately took them down.”

Nick said that on Tuesday night, a store employee saw the signs and immediately alerted a manager, who promptly removed the signs.

“At Walmart, we greatly value our 7200 associates who are drivers in our private fleet as well as the drivers from over 200 other carriers who all play such key roles in moving goods to our customers throughout the country,” Nick states.

A CDLLifer spoke with one of the store’s floor managers last night who said that a man was found placing the signs and taking pictures of them.  This has not been confirmed by Walmart Corporate.
