Werner Enterprises, an international transportation and logistics provider, introduced a third truck to its Operational Freedom fleet this week.

Werner Enterprises last week announced they’re surpassed their pledge to hire 1,000 veterans.

In 2012, Werner pledged to hire 1,000 veterans per year for five years. Instead, they went above and beyond and hired 5,100 veterans in three years. In 2015, Werner ha pledged to hire 2,200 veterans and 200 veteran spouses.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with our progress in creating opportunities for our veterans,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Derek Leathers. “From our successful hiring initiatives to our growing Operation Freedom fleet, we remain committed to doing even better in the future.”

Werner’s Operation Freedom fleet was established to bring awareness to the “industry-leading military apprenticeship program.” The Operation Freedom fleet is a fleet of military-themed truck and trailers.

The company’s 5th Freedom truck will hit the road this month. The newest truck features an American flat and military dog tag.
