Wind Flips 3 Trucks, Backs Up California Traffic For 100 Miles

Weather is being blamed for overturning three trucks on I-10 near Blythe yesterday, causing traffic backups that reached all the way to Indio, almost 100 miles away.

The California Highway Patrol said that strong winds and heavy rain were to blame for overturning trucks yesterday afternoon.

The first truck overturned while heading west near Corn Springs Road. Another truck heading east overturned half an hour later while at the same time another westbound truck flipped.

No injuries were reported.

Traffic officials issued the following Sigalert: “It is currently not recommended for high profile vehicles like big rigs, RVs and travel trailers at this time.”
