A fast moving winter storm has forced authorities to shut down a 100 mile stretch of I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins.
The storm also caused the closure of 50 miles of the westbound lanes of I-80 from Cheyenne to Laramie. In addition, winter weather has forced the closure of parts of sections of U.S. 30 and state highways 77, 487 and 34 north of I-80.
According to local reports, the snow has lightened significantly, but heavy winds are making travel difficult or impossible.
