Arrests Made Following Big Rig Drive By Shooting

Police have located and arrested two people who they suspect are responsible for a drive by shooting aimed at a big rig in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The shooting took place Saturday afternoon on I-15. A truck driver reported that two or three people in a green Ford SUV fired a round at his rig, striking the door.

After interviewing the trucker, the State Bureau of Investigation learned that he had a personal relationship with at least one of the shooters: “This is not just some random incident; these people do know each other.

Police searched Saturday night for the suspects and the green SUV, but they were not successful. Sunday morning, however, the West Jordan Police Department contacted the State Bureau of Investigation and said that they believed that they had the suspects in the drive by shooting incident in custody on another charge.

Suspects Arrested On Unrelated Charges

West Jordan Police had arrested Fe’uu Fagatelle, 32, and Brittany Goldsmith, 25, after they were caught trying to use a screwdriver to break into a vehicle. Police also found a sawed off shot gun in the couple’s possession.

Bagatelle was charged with possession of dangerous weapon by a restricted person, vehicle burglary, assault on police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, false information and failure to stop.

Goldsmith was charged with possession of a controlled substance, use or possession of a drug, and retail theft.

Charges related to the drive by shooting have not yet been issued.

Police say one more person may have been involved in the shooting. They are still searching for information on the third suspect.

The truck driver was not injured during the shooting.
