Hazmat teams have responded to a huge two truck fire that has shut down Chicago’s I-55 in both directions.
On scene reports say that four people were able to escape the two semis and two passenger vehicles involved in the crash at Cicero Avenue this morning just before 11 a.m.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the crash.
Using a foam truck, crews were able to extinguish the fire, but it is unclear when I-55 will reopen.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Best to exit on 1st ave S for those on I–55 S. #chicago #accident https://t.co/QkbRyEEIS8
