The California Highway Patrol has asked for information on the shooting of a truck driver and rollover crash that occurred in Lathrop on June 10.
The CHP has released very little information on the incident. Per a news release, they say that the single vehicle rollover crash occurred on June 10 in the southbound lanes of I-5 near Louise Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found that the truck driver had sustained a single gunshot wound. The driver reportedly died as a result of the incident.
CHP said that no further information was available at this time, but asked anyone who witnesses the crash or suspicious activity in the area to call 209-943-8600.
Numerous social media posts have identified the driver as Tai Cook of Indian River Transport.
We’ve included video of Good Samaritans attempting to rescue the driver below in the hope that it will aid in the investigation.
