Connecticut Cops Seek Trucker Who Sideswiped Cruiser

Connecticut State Police are looking for a truck driver who they say sideswiped one of their cruisers and then fled the scene early this morning.

The crash happened around 4:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 in Waterford near exit 82.

Police say that a cruiser was parked on the shoulder of the interstate when a tractor trailer drifted out of the right lane and struck the cruiser, then continued south without stopping.

The 33 year old trooper in the cruiser was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

It is unclear from any reports whether the cruiser had any lights activated or why it was parked on the shoulder of the interstate.

Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call Sargent Smith at Troop E-Montville at 860-848-6500.
