Crash Involving 2 Trucks And School Bus Injures 9 Students

Published:

A truck driver has been cited following an accident involving two trucks and a school bus in Beach Park, Illinois, yesterday.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Green Bay Road. The school bus was stopped in traffic behind an 18-wheeler when another truck failed to stop for traffic and rear-ended the truck, forcing the bus to crash into the truck in front of it. Students on the bus said that they were thrown forward by the first impact then knocked backward by the second impact.

The bus was carrying 56 students at the time of the crash. Nine of the students suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. They were transported to a nearby hospital.

Neither of the truck drivers were hurt. The bus driver was also uninjured.

The truck driver who hit the bus, 55-year-old Milos Ostojic, was charged for failing to reduce his speed to avoid a crash and for driving without proof of insurance or his driver’s license.
