CRST Acquires California’s Largest Truckload Carrier

CRST International announced yesterday that they have acquired California based Gardner Trucking Inc.

The move is the single largest acquisition in CRST’s history and will help the company gain an additional $400 million in annual revenue.

The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

The acquisition will mean adding 2,400 truck drivers to CRST’s existing group of 8,000 truck drivers, independent contractors, and office workers.

Said Dave Rusch, president and CEO of CRST, “The acquisition of Gardner Trucking further complements CRST’s service offerings through Gardner’s expertise in short-haul, local markets, as well as drayage and warehousing. We are thrilled to be working with the Lanting family on this acquisition and look forward to growing Gardner’s operations in its markets.

Gardner was founded in 1989. They provide specialized regional truckload services to the western U.S.

Current Gardner Trucking president Tom Lanting will retain his role as president.
