Dozens Hurt In Bus Crash That Shut Down Northbound I-95

Published:

A charter bus crash on I-95 in Madison, Connecticut, has left dozens of people injured this afternoon.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. between Exits 60 and 61. The Dahlia Travel Group charter bus en route to a casino somehow rolled over onto its side. Dozens of emergency vehicles have responded to the crash.

The cause of the crash is unclear, but heavy snowfall may have been a factor.

Six people involved in the bus crash suffered critical injuries. Of the 55 bus passengers, rescuers expect to transport 30 to 40 to the hospital. The condition of the bus driver is unknown.

The bus crash has closed the northbound lanes of I-95 and is causing heavy backups. Southbound lanes of I-95 remain open. It is unclear when the northbound lanes will reopen.
