“I don’t know how I’m going to explain this one,” said the lucky driver who was unhurt after crashing his truck off of the side of the I-95 on ramp in Boca Raton, Florida, early this morning.
The incident happened just after 4 a.m. Driver William Brake was hauling cabinets from Georgia to Fort Lauderdale and was entering I-95 when he realized that he was going the wrong way. He told reporters, “I was on the expressway and thought that this was part of the expressway. (It) was a surprise. I am not the only 18-wheeler that had this problem at this time of night. You’re cruising and then you get to this point and you say, ‘What’s going on?’ and it’s too late.”

He lost control and crashed through a barrier and was left with the cab of his rig hanging off the ramp.
He said, “I thought I was doing OK till’ I found out that, that was a cliff and I was hoping that my … didn’t break. I mean, you know what I mean ’cause I was trying to move my mattress up front and expect the worst.”
Crews who responded to the crash were able to rescue Brake with a ladder. He was unharmed during the crash.

It took two tow truck to clear the truck off of the ramp.
