Authorities discovered an explosive device under a bridge in Central Texas last night.
The explosive device was discovered on the Farm to Market 1963 bridge three miles south of Rosebud on Tuesday night. The child of a firefighter spotted something suspicious under the bridge and called his father.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives used a water cannon and a PAN disruptor to disarm the device.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s office says that the device was full of shotgun shells and a flammable liquid designed to blow shrapnel. “Someone had made this to create lots of damage and harm,” they stated.
There were no injuries reported.
Authorities do not have a motive or suspects at this time.
