FedEx Truck Plows Into Olive Garden

Published:

Missouri police are trying to determine why a FedEx truck hauling doubles left the road and crashed into an Olive Garden restaurant in the early morning hours, causing a two alarm fire.

The crash happened at the Olive Garden location off of I-70 Drive S.W. shortly after 3 a.m. The truck driver somehow lost control and crashed into the west side of the building, causing both the truck and the restaurant to catch fire.

The Columbia Fire Department responded to the two alarm fire, sending out 17 units to battle the blaze. It took approximately 40 minutes to extinguish the fire.

The truck driver was able to get out of the truck on his own and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
