Freightliner Lays Off Over 100 Employees At Gastonia Plant

Published:

Freightliner announced that another round of layoffs that will cut the jobs from 115 employees at the Gastonia, North Carolina plant.

The layoffs will be effective as of August 12.

These 115 laid off employees join hundreds of other workers that Freightliner has laid off recently due to weak truck sales. Back in June, the company laid off 600 workers at the Mount Holly plant and 200 from the Gastonia plant.

Freightliner says that the layoffs are temporary and that as soon as sales pick up, they hope to bring laid off employees back to work.
