Freightliner Cascadia Trucks Recalled Over Worry About Overheating HVAC Units

Daimler Trucks North America decided to recall 8,865 model year 2015-2016 Cascadia trucks because of growing concern that the Bergstrom Parksmart HVAC units could overheat and cause a fire.

Daimler will notify truck owners of the recall starting in May. Dealers will replace the compressor caps free of charge. Dealers may also replace harnesses if they notice evidence of heat damage.

The recalled trucks were manufactured from March 24, 2014, through Nov. 9, 2015.
