No Trucks Allowed Into NJ, NY Ports Following Surprise Walk Out

Published:

No new trucks will be allowed into the ports of New York and New Jersey after a surprise walkout by around 4,000 dock workers today.

The Port Authority announced “No truck operations at this time” on their website. They also said they are working to resume normal operations.

The Port Authority was surprised by the walk-offs and called them an illegal action. They say are not sure what prompted the work stoppage.

Transportation officials have attempted to divert trucks from the ports, but traffic in the area is at a near standstill. The Port Authority advises all truckers to avoid port roads.
