U.S. Marshals have arrested a Michigan truck driver who admitted to pushing a man out of his truck and running over him after a drug deal went bad.
Trucker Suspected In Drug Related Fatal Hit And Run
According to reports, the hit and run crash took place in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on July 2 around 1 p.m. Police say that 33 year old truck driver Lorenzo Anthony Doke became involved in an argument with 56 year old Ricardo Rose. Rose reportedly supplied Doke with crack. After Doke had smoked some of the crack, he allegedly told Rose that he didn’t have any money to pay for the drugs.
During the ensuing altercation, Doke reportedly pushed Rose out of his truck and ran over him.
Rose died as a result of his injuries.
Driver Confesses, Taken Into Custody by Marshals
Police were able to locate Doke at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Doke was interrogated and confessed to running Rose over at this time, but he couldn’t be arrested because his warrant was issued in Connecticut.
U.S. Marshals took Doke into custody on Wednesday. He faces charges of first degree manslaughter and evading responsibility.
