Police Looking For Truck Driver Who Hit Trooper And Fled

Published:

New Hampshire authorities are searching for a truck driver who reportedly fled the scene after hitting a police cruiser and injuring a trooper.

Police say that the crash took place on Route 89 in Warner on January 12 just after 6 p.m. A trooper had pulled over with his emergency lights on to assist a motorist when a truck that was reportedly driving too fast for conditions “tried to slow and the trailer veered to the right and struck the trooper’s car.” The car was knocked 283 feet away into a median on the right side of the road.

The truck driver initially pulled over, but then left the scene of the crash.

The trooper survived the crash with non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

New Hampshire police are on the lookout for a truck with a dark-colored cab and a white box type trailer with a Canadian license plate. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call 603-271-3636.
