Michigan State Police say that they suspect that a woman who died after crashing her car into a stopped truck on I-75 in Detroit may be have been distracted by her phone.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m. last night when the 67 year old woman crashed into the back of a truck waiting to cross the Ambassador Bridge into Canada.
The car became wedged underneath the trailer during the crash.
Crews had to extract the woman from her vehicle. She was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
Police say that they believe distracted driving is to blame for the crash: “Based on information obtained during the initial investigation, it appears she may have been distracted by her cellphone,”
