Many truckers were moved over the holiday weekend when a young boy stopped at the TA truck stop in Franklin, Tennessee, to hand out Christmas cards.
Local news station WKRN reports that six year old Leland Mercado made the rounds delivering cards at the truck stop in part because he is the grandson of a trucker who has passed.
Trucker James Phillips was moved by Leland’s gesture and the kind words hand written in the card:
“Dear Truck Driver,
Thank you for traveling across the country to supply us with the things we need and want. I’m sorry you have to constantly battle traffic, drive in bad weather, and be away from your family. Please know that I appreciate the sacrifices you make. I pray that you will have a safe journey and a quick return home to your family. Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
