Mack Says Renewable Diesel Is Fine For All Engines

Published:

Following extensive testing, Mack Trucks announced that renewable diesel is approved for use in all of their engines.

According to a Mack spokesperson: “This approval gives Mack customers who seek to reduce their environmental footprint an additional choice when it comes to alternative fuels.

The change to renewable diesel can is expected to reduce a truck’s greenhouse emissions by 15% to 80%. Mack says that renewable diesel works in a way similar to biodiesel but has less environmental impact and comes with lower maintenance costs. But because of the way that renewable diesel is produced, Mack says that it performs more like petroleum-based diesel than biodiesel and meets the ASTM D975 specifications.

Just last month, Volvo approved the use of renewable diesel for use in all of its engines.
