Three Indicted For Allegedly Using Fake Trucking Company To Collect Payments

Published:

Three California residents have been indicted on charges of using a phony trucking company as a front to defraud a Bakersfield business.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Lynnsi Dunbar, her husband Kye Dunbar, and Daniel Harte conspired to defraud Bakersfield Pipe and Supply in 2014.

The court records say that they created a fake trucking company called Harte Trucking and that they sent BPS invoices from Harte Trucking for services that were never performed.

The defendants were allegedly able to defraud DPS out of $287,000 between March 17, 2014, and October 22, 2014.

A grand jury indicted the trio yesterday on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. If they are convicted, the defendants could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
