Driver Chooses 70 Mile Police Chase Over Random Safety Inspection

Published:

Yesterday a truck driver fled from a random safety inspection, leading the Kentucky State Patrol on a 69 mile police pursuit along I-65.

Trucker Refuses To Stop For KSP Inspection

The pursuit began around 1:15 p.m. when a Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer attempted to stop a northbound truck for an inspection.

Forty-two year old truck driver Hussein Abdikadir Ali then led police on an hour long pursuit along I-65 and only stopped when spike strips disabled his rig about two miles north of Sonora.

After the truck stopped, Ali refused to exit the truck. He was eventually arrested and taken into custody.

Police Find Gun But No Contraband On Truck

Though there was no contraband on the truck, police did find a concealed weapon. Police say that Ali would not say why he refused to stop.

Ali was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment, fleeing from the police, speeding in a work zone, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and resisting arrest.
