Driver Dies After Semi Goes Off Road Into Water

Published:

A trucker was found dead in his fully submerged cab after his rig went off Florida’s I-75 into a nearby body of swamp-like water.

The crash happened late last night in Alachua County near mile marker 381 in Paynes Prairie.

After searching the area, rescue divers located the driver in the cab of the truck, which was fully submerged.

It is unclear what caused the crash or the truck driver’s death.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office took charge of the initial search for the truck driver, but they will be handing off the investigation to the Florida Highway Patrol.
